To Dr. H. at the Same-Day Clinic

The next time

a small, autistic non-verbal person

(and her mother)

come to see you about said small person's

viral gastroenteritis,

consider--

just consider--

that said small autistic person

(and her mother)

are really there about the gastroenteritis

and not to serve as captive participants in your rousing game of

Everything I Ever Wanted To Ask About Autism.

Thank you.

Well said,amen.

Here's hoping the SANVP threw up on the doctor. (Please?)

This reminds me of the time I went to prompt care because my ears were absolutely killing me.

The dr comes in and tells me that I have an ear infection (for which he prescribed antibiotics) and then said he would be amiss if he didn't suggest that I lose some weight.

What? I'm fat? I need to lose weight? Thank goodness he clued me in! Also, I didn't know about the relation of being overweight and ear infections. I have seen the light!

Poor Miss Olive!
I am so sorry that she is sick and I hope she gets better soon!
Since you have been grilled today about Autism, can I ask a question? You can tell me it is none of my biz and to go away if you want. Do you use the gluten-free and casein-free diet with Olive? Just curious if you had heard of it or if it worked at all.
Any way I hope Olive feels better soon!

You have a way of saying things just right.

Oh dear! I hope she threw up all over him just before you walked (ran) out the door!

Empathy costs extra, I guess :)

Please stop by my blog to join the Summer Reading Groupies!

roll eyes! Hope she is feeling better!

Charming. Hope Miss Olive is feeling better. Glad you stopped by the blog! Thanks for adding me to your blog roll.

"The problem with SANVPs is how they puke without the slightest warning. Ooops. Sorry. That will wash out, I hope?"
